Gingrich Says Trump Making Himself ‘More Unacceptable’ Than Clinton

Newt Gingrich, one of Donald Trump's most ardent supporters and once rumored to be his vice-presidential pick, said in an interview Wednesday morning that Trump was "proving he is more unacceptable" than Hillary Clinton.

“The current race is which of these two is the more unacceptable, because right now neither of them is acceptable,” Gingrich told the Washington Post today, predicting Trump only has a matter of weeks to reverse course. “Trump is helping her to win the election by proving he is more unacceptable that she is.”

He appeared to reiterate the point in an interview with CBS.

“It is obvious from the polling data and everything we are seeing that Trump is making himself unacceptable next to Hillary Clinton,” Gingrich said.

However, he later appear to walk back comments.

Media has wildly misinterpreted my critique of a bad week for Trump. Trump is vastly better than Hillary as President.
